Environmental Policy

1. Our Commitment

At Seek Ribbon, we recognize that the textile manufacturing industry has a significant responsibility to protect the environment for future generations. As a manufacturer of high-quality ribbons and webbing products serving customers across Europe, North America, and beyond, we are committed to integrating environmental sustainability into every aspect of our operations — from raw material sourcing and production processes to packaging and logistics.

Environmental Policy

Our environmental policy is guided by three core principles:

  • Design Sustainably — integrating eco-design principles from the product development phase
  • Preserve Resources — reducing energy and water consumption, minimizing waste, and investing in efficient production tools
  • Drive Innovation — developing next-generation materials that reduce environmental impact without compromising quality

This policy applies to all Seek Ribbon facilities, operations, and supply chain partners. We are committed to continuous improvement and transparent reporting on our environmental performance.

2. Regulatory Compliance & International Standards

Seek Ribbon operates in full compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in the jurisdictions where we manufacture and do business. We proactively monitor and align our practices with evolving international environmental standards, including:

  • EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) — We align our environmental disclosures with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), reporting on climate change, pollution, water resources, and circular economy impacts
  • UK Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) — We report on our energy consumption and Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions
  • EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) — We are preparing for Digital Product Passport requirements and designing for durability, repairability, and recyclability
  • EU Waste Framework Directive (Extended Producer Responsibility for Textiles) — We support the transition to circular economy models and textile waste recycling

We maintain rigorous chemical management practices that meet or exceed the requirements of REACH, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, and major brands’ Restricted Substances Lists (RSL).

3. Our Environmental Actions

3.1 Sustainable Materials Innovation

We are actively transitioning our product portfolio toward more sustainable materials:

  • Recycled Polyester — We are developing ribbons made from GRS-certified (Global Recycled Standard) recycled polyester, transforming post-consumer PET bottles into high-performance yarns. GRS certification ensures traceability throughout the entire supply chain and verifies responsible social, environmental, and chemical practices.
  • Bio-based Materials — We are exploring bio-based polymer alternatives that reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Life Cycle Assessment data shows that bio-based materials can achieve 28–32% reduction in Global Warming Potential compared to virgin polyester.
  • Natural Fibers — We are incorporating sustainable natural fibers including organic cotton, linen, and Tencel® into our product lines. Tencel® is produced from sustainably sourced wood pulp in a closed-loop system where 99.5% of chemicals are recycled.
  • Responsible Sourcing — We prioritize suppliers who share our commitment to environmental stewardship and hold certifications such as GRS, OEKO-TEX®, and bluesign®.

3.2 Energy & Emissions Reduction

We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint across all operations:

  • Energy Efficiency — We continuously invest in energy-efficient machinery and production processes to reduce energy consumption per unit of production
  • Renewable Energy — We are increasing our use of renewable energy sources in our manufacturing facilities
  • Carbon Reduction Targets — We have established a greenhouse gas emissions reduction roadmap aligned with the Paris Agreement goals, targeting measurable annual reductions in emissions intensity
  • Scope 1, 2 & 3 — We measure and report our direct emissions (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2), and are working to enhance data collection for supply chain emissions (Scope 3)

3.3 Waste Reduction & Circular Economy

We embrace circular economy principles throughout our operations:

  • Waste Valorization — We minimize production waste through optimized cutting and weaving processes, and recycle or repurpose offcuts and by-products
  • Chemical Management — We use low-impact dyes and finishing agents, employing low liquor ratio dyeing equipment and water-saving continuous dyeing processes to reduce water consumption and wastewater generation
  • Packaging — We use recyclable and minimal packaging materials for our products
  • Product Longevity — We design our ribbons for durability, ensuring they meet the performance requirements of our customers while minimizing the need for frequent replacement

3.4 Water Stewardship

Water is a precious resource in textile manufacturing:

  • We employ water-efficient production technologies including closed-loop systems and low-water dyeing processes
  • We treat all wastewater before discharge, ensuring compliance with stringent environmental standards
  • We continuously monitor and work to reduce our water consumption intensity

4. Governance & Accountability

4.1 Management Systems

Seek Ribbon maintains robust environmental management systems that:

  • Assign clear responsibility for environmental performance at all levels of the organization
  • Conduct regular environmental audits and risk assessments
  • Set measurable environmental targets and track progress annually
  • Integrate environmental considerations into procurement and investment decisions

4.2 Employee Engagement & Training

We believe that environmental stewardship starts with our people:

  • All employees receive training on environmental policies and best practices
  • We foster a culture of continuous improvement where every team member is empowered to suggest and implement sustainability initiatives
  • We promote awareness of environmental issues and encourage responsible behavior both at work and beyond

4.3 Supply Chain Responsibility

We extend our environmental commitment to our supply chain:

  • We require all suppliers to comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct, which includes environmental criteria
  • We prioritize suppliers with recognized environmental certifications
  • We work collaboratively with suppliers to improve their environmental performance

5. Transparency & Continuous Improvement

Seek Ribbon is committed to transparency in our environmental journey:

  • We publish this Environmental Policy on our website and make it accessible to all stakeholders
  • We report annually on our environmental performance, including energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and progress toward our sustainability targets
  • We welcome feedback from customers, partners, and the communities in which we operate

We recognize that environmental sustainability is a journey, not a destination. As regulations evolve, technologies advance, and stakeholder expectations rise, Seek Ribbon will continue to innovate and improve. We are committed to playing our part in building a more sustainable textile industry — one that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

6. Policy Review

This Environmental Policy will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our operations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The latest version will always be available on our website.
